Importance of product EMC design:
The EMC design of a product is a key factor in ensuring theEMCPerformance, and the product's EMC performance is directly related to the market access of electronic products; with the large number of electronic devices used, countries have felt the importance of product EMC design, have been put forward from the regulations on the entry of electronic products into the national market EMC requirements, such as:
- EC - 89/336/EEC DIRECTIVE - explicitly requires that products must comply with the requirements of the relevant EC EMC standards, otherwise they may not be sold in the EC market. Violators may be penalized by fines and market bans.
- The U.S. requires communications products entering the country to comply with FCC PART 15 and 68 requirements;
- South Korea, on the other hand, requires communication products to comply with EMC requirements, or else they will not be issued with a network access license.
- China's home appliances have been mandatory implementation of EMC standards; communication power supply products in October 2001 has begun to implement EMC standards, and some of the company's product development is affected by this, the progress is delayed.
- In addition the EMC performance of the product is good or bad, but also related to the stability of the product, affecting customer satisfaction; mainly in:
- Inadequate EMC design can cause internal crosstalk and affect product stability;
- Poor resistance to external interference, difficult to work stably;
- Generating interference can cause customer complaints.
- Finally, the EMC performance of a product is also closely related to the competitiveness of the product. The same product with or without CE marking can often play a decisive role in market competition.
- Therefore, in order to participate in the international competition and become a large international company, we must carry out the EMC design of the product and solve the EMC problem of the product.
The purpose of product EMC design:
After completing the EMC design, the product needs to be marketed according to the relevant standard requirements of theEMC Test ItemsCarry out all the tests and issue test reports, EMC test reports should show that the product complies with the corresponding policies, decrees and regulations of the process, called product certification. The following only explains the basic process of CE certification, other certification processes, please refer to other articles for more information.
The basic process of CE product certification:
- Product EMC and safety performance meets the standard requirements;
- Make a request for certification and contact a certified company (Competent Body) for certification testing (this step is not required for the self-proclaimed method);
- The certifying company gives a certificate of certification (COC), report;
- Signing of the Declaration of Conformity (Declaration of Conformity, by a specialized laboratory);
- Put the CE mark on the product;
- Any product has to be tested, DOC declared and CE marked before it can finally enter the European market. The process is similar for products from other countries, and the CE marking is shown in the diagram below, which can be scaled.
