Lamp cords were the control pull cords for early light switches, and nowadays pull cord switches have almost always been replaced by modern switches

2.1.4, GBT17743-2017 added Appendix D gives the applicable test methods and limit values for different types of lamps.

  • GBT17743-2017 added Appendix D-Test methods and limits for self-ballasted lamps and ELV lamps
  • GBT17743-2017 added Appendix D-Test methods and limits for LED light sources, incandescent lamps and all other types of lamps
  • GBT17743-2017 added Appendix D-Test Methods and Limits for Incandescent Lamps and Fluorescent Lamps of Starter-Switched Operating Type
  • GBT17743-2017 added Appendix D-Self-Capacitating Emergency Illuminators and LED Light Sources, Test Methods and Limits for Transportation Lighting
  • GBT17743-2017 adds test methods and limits for light cords and all other types of lamps and lanterns
  • GBT17743-2017 added Appendix D-Dimming devices, transformers, converters, test methods and limits for semi-luminaires
  • GBT17743-2017 added Appendix D - Test methods and limits for double-ended lamp adapters and semi-luminaires with separate starters and triggers

Updates to the CISPR15-2018 standard

3.1, Name:

3.1.1, CISPR15-2018-ED9.0 Limits and methods of measurement of radio disturbance characteristics of electrical lighting and similar equipment

Posted on May 15, 2018

3.2, CISPR15-2018 update

CISPR 15:2018 Application to emissions (radiated and conducted) of radiofrequency interference: lighting equipment (3.3.16).

  • -Lighting part of multifunctional equipment, where the lighting part is the main function.
  • UV and infrared radiation equipment for residential and non-industrial applications.
  • -Advertising signboards.
  • -Decorative lighting.
  • -Emergency.
  • Excluded from the scope of this document:- Components or modules used in lighting fixtures that are not replaceable.
    • -Lighting equipment operating in the ISM band (according to the provisions of ITU Radio Regulation 63 (1979)).
    • -Lighting equipment for aircraft and airport facilities (runways, services, platforms).
    • -video signals.
    • mounting
    • -Electromagnetic compatibility requirements in the radio frequency range are specified in other CISPR standards for devices, even if they contain built-in lighting functions.
    • The frequency range covered is 9 kHz to 400 GHz. there is no need to perform measurements at any of the restricted frequencies specified in this document.
    • Multi-functional devices that are also applicable to different clauses and/or other standards of this document need to comply with the provisions of the respective clauses/standards and have the relevant functions.
    • For equipment outside the scope of this document, which includes lighting as an auxiliary function, there is no need to evaluate the lighting function of this document separately, provided that the lighting function is performed during the evaluation. Compliance with applicable standards. The radiated emission requirements in this document shall not apply to intentional transmissions from radio transmitters as defined by the ITU, nor to any spurious emissions associated with such intentional transmissions.

For the remainder of this document, electronic lighting and similar equipment as defined herein falls within the scope of this document, regardless of whether the term "lighting equipment" or "EUT" is used. This Ninth Edition cancels and replaces the Eighth Edition published in 2013 and its Amendment 1:2015.This edition constitutes a technical revision. This edition includes significant technical changes in relation to the previous edition.

  • (a) Comprehensive editorial revision and reorganization.
  • b) Remove restrictions on power supply and battery operation from the scope.
  • c) introduction of limits for radiated disturbances in the frequency range 300 MHz to 1 GHz.
  • d) Load terminal limits and CDNE (Displacement Radiation Emission) limits have been changed.
    • The CDNE method is specified and applies only to EUTs with clocks with frequencies less than or equal to 30 MHz.
    • The EUT size limitations of CISPR 16-2-1 do not apply.
    • with regards toCDNE methodologyMaximum size of EUT is 3 m x 1 m x 1 m (L x W x H).
    • Shenzhen EUTTEST Technology Co.,Ltd.CDNE compliant with the latest version of CISPR15-2018  The following is a list of the most popular products and services available. If you want to contact us, please do so.
  • e) Delete the insertion of the loss requirement and the related Annex A.
  • f) Introduction of three basic ports: wired network port, local wired port and storage module port; for the wired network port, the conducted interference limits have been modified as follows and can be found in the standards Table 2 and 3.
    • The name has been updated from Control terminals to wired network ports; new limits have been added for testing with current probes. The following changes have been made to the conducted interference limits for local wired ports, which can be found in Table 5 and 6 of the standard.
    • The name has been changed from load terminals to local wired ports;
    • Added limits for testing with current probes.
    • Newly introduced chassis ports, refer to standards section 4.5 and 5.3.4
  • (g) Adopting a more technology-independent approach.
