What are YRS01 and YRS02?

2024 UPDATE: Both the YRS01 and YRS02 have been discontinued, please click on the YRS04 link above to see the new products.

YRS01 respond in singing YRS02 Both models are white noise or comb-spectrum output noise signal sources manufactured by York in the UK and authorized for sale by EUTTEST in Shenzhen.

York YRS01

York YRS01

The YRS01 and YRS02 are multi-purpose reference sources that produce continuous noise signals from 9kHz-1GHz and comb signals with selectable spectral spacing from 5kHz-1GHz. The YRS consists of two models, the YRS01 and the YRS02 , the YRS01 is compatible with the BP01 battery pack and can also be powered by an external USB power supply. the YRS01 can be used as an accessory to the CGE kit by sharing the power supply with the CGE Comb Signal Generator. The YRS02 is a standalone multi-purpose reference source with built-in battery.

York YRS02

YRS01 and YRS02 have the same scope of use.

  • Comparison of different measurement environments, e.g. OATS or darkroom
  • Validation of radiation and conductivity measurement systems and calibrated reference sources for the following purposes
    • Periodic verification required by standards such as ISO 17025
    • Long-term performance monitoring
    • Study of cable placement
    • Study of Shielded Room Behavior
    • Measurement of filter performance
    • Cable insertion loss measurement
  • Measuring amplifier gain and bandwidth
  • Spectrum analyzer/receiver pre-check

YRS01 and YRS02 have the same product features:

  • Selectable white noise or comb signal: flexible for different applications
  • Stable output: repeatable measurements
  • Frequency range 5kHz-1GHz: suitable for all types of applications such as conduction and radiation
  • Compact size and easy to carry: suitable for comparison of different sites
  • Battery-powered: no external power supply and no connecting cables are required for measurements

YRS01 and YRS02 use the same test method:

Utilized in radiated emission RE

For radiated emissions, two monopole antennas in different frequency bands are used, placed on top of the YRS, which is particularly suitable for checking the performance of the open field (OATS) and the darkroom.

The compact YRS reference source has a built-in battery to minimize the impact of the reference source itself on the test environment. The YRS reference source is housed in a metal case and can be placed directly on the ground plane as required for some tests.

Utilized in conductive emission CE

The YRS reference source with a 50Ω N-type connector allows the checking of conductive measurement systems to be accomplished directly. Two options are provided: the LSA03 provides a capacitive connection from the YRS output to an IEC 320 power socket, allowing the performance of devices such as LISNs or absorber clamps to be checked, and the NIA01 is provided to standard connectors such as RJ11, RJ14, RJ25 and RJ45 for checking the performance of ISNs.

Using the CNEV+ with an antenna the radiometric measurement system can be inspected, also equipped with a BNC connector available adapter (LSA02) providing a capacitive connection from the output of the CNE to a standard IEC 320 power connector, for inspection and evaluation of the conductive measurement system, e.g. the LISN or absorbing clamp used.

The YRS01 and YRS02 share some of the same technical parameters:
