Introduction:
The VTSD 9262 is a bandpass limiter manufactured by Schwarzbeck, Germany, for partial discharge measurements where high voltage equipment is frequently tested according to the "partial discharge method". The bandpass filter is designed as a combination of a high-pass filter and a low-pass filter with a special ring core to keep intermodulation low. The diode limiter clips voltages in excess of +-2.5 V, which is well beyond the level that the receiver can properly handle under these conditions. The advantage of this "double limiter" is better receiver protection without negatively affecting sensitivity and dynamics. The limitation of the frequency range is negligible, since there are no partial discharge measurements outside this frequency range. On the other hand, voltage measurements in the frequency range 9 kHz - 30 MHz are not possible with this limiter.
Product Features:
- It is possible to protect the receiver used in partial discharge measurements.
- The combination of bandpass filtering and voltage limiting provides optimal protection and low potential for error.
- Extremely low signal attenuation keeps receiver sensitivity high.
- Built-in switch for easy limited or unlimited comparisons.
- Limitations can be tested.
- Very small, can be mounted directly on the input of the receiver
