Introduction:
VPMP 9241 is a passive and vertical monopole antenna manufactured by Schwarzbeck (Germany) and authorized for sale by EUTTEST in accordance with standards CISPR/D/391/CD, CIS/D/386/CD, CIS/D/388A/CC.
Components of a monopole antenna:
The VPMP9241 monopole antenna consists of a flat aluminum substrate and a milled aluminum housing with two N-type connectors on the sides and an element clamp on top. The element clamping device with a nominal diameter of 10 mm accepts vertical rods with a length of 0.5 m, which are included in the standard supply.
An optional top disc ( TLD 9241 ) is also available, which can be used in place of the 0.5 m rod with virtually all element types in the Schwarzbeck product range, such as the biconical elements BBA 9106, BBAL 9136, BBAK 9137, BBVK 9138 or the telescopic elements of the collapsible elements FBAL 9177, FBAB 9178 or VHA 9103.
Typical use of monopole antennas:
The VPMP9241 antenna can be validated for ALSE (Absorber Lined Shielded Enclosure) as proposed in CISPR 25 Ed.
A further application is the "Single Cone Method" according to CISPR 16-1-6, which is used to generate vertically polarized fields for calibrating biconical or hybrid antennas in the frequency range up to 300 MHz. The second N connector can be terminated with 50 ohms or left open, depending on the application. If the impedance of the radiator deviates significantly from 50 Ω, termination is recommended. This usually occurs at low frequencies (f < 30 MHz) and with short radiators (radiators with a length of about λ/10 or less).
You can also shop for VPMP 9242 Monopole antenna bases to test with other antennas on other test frequencies.
