Instructions for use:
The replaceable needle electrodes of the P23 probe, which allow EMC engineers to inject electric fields very precisely into tiny locations on the device under test, are connected to the interference generator via the probe's electrodes with an internal fixed capacitance of 10 pF. The MINI field generator is placed by hand on the device under test and the needle electrodes thus form a metallic connection. In this way, the developer can precisely affect selected very fine GND/Vcc structures, individual via holes or IC pins on the PCB and determine the presence of weak points through functional faults. Since the interference intensity is adjustable, weak points can be compared with each other and the effectiveness of EMC measures can be evaluated. The high mechanical resolution even allows specific inspection of dense package structures (e.g. BGA bottoms) and comparative assessment of pin sensitivities.
