Introduction:
The LF-U 2.5 Magnetic Field Probe is a near-field probe manufactured by Langer EMV, Germany. The measuring coil of the magnetic field probe LF-U 2.5 is placed perpendicular to the axis. Using the probe tip perpendicularly ensures that it is placed directly and correctly on the component or device to be measured.
This allows for use on the surface of printed circuit boards in locations that are normally difficult to access, such as between large parts of a switching controller, and the probe LF-U 2.5 is a passive near-field probe that does not require a power supply to be used.
The measuring coil in the LF-U 2.5 probe is rotated 90° with respect to its position in the LF-R 3 probe and detects magnetic field lines emitted by the object under test at an angle of 90°. Magnetic field lines entering the probe from the side are not detected. The near-field probe is compact and convenient. It has a current attenuation sheath and is therefore electrically shielded. It can be connected to a spectrum analyzer or an oscilloscope with a 50 Ω input. The magnetic field probe does not have a 50 Ω internal termination resistor.
