Introduction:
The Magnetic Field Probe model LF-R 3 is a near-field probe manufactured by langer emv, Germany, that directly detects high-resolution RF magnetic fields on components such as IC pins and IC housings, conductive paths, decoupling capacitors, and areas around EMC components. The LF-R 3 probe is a passive near-field probe with the same basic construction as the LF-R 50 and LF-R 400 probes. The LF-R 3 has the highest resolution of the three probes.
The LF-R 3 probe is suitable for measurements in close proximity to components in the range of high magnetic field strengths. For long distance measurements, the LF-R 400 and LF-R 50 are recommended for this purpose.
The near-field probe is compact and convenient. It has a current attenuation sheath and is therefore electrically shielded. It can be connected to a spectrum analyzer or an oscilloscope with a 50 Ω input. The Magnetic Field Probe does not have a 50 Ω internal termination resistor.
