Introduction:
The magnetic field probe type LF-K 7 is a near-field probe manufactured by Langer-emv, Germany. The LF-K 7 near-field probe has two coils for detecting semicircular magnetic field lines. Such magnetic field lines appear at wires, rod-shaped structural components, cable connectors, and along the edges of flat structural components. The function of the probe is similar to that of a coupling clip. The LF-K 7 is a passive near-field probe. In contrast to the LF-U 5 probe, the LF-K 7 probe does not detect magnetic lines of force entering the probe from the side.
The LF-K 7 near-field probe detects non-uniform magnetic fields that enter the bottom of the probe through one coil, bend circularly around the probe and exit through a second coil. Superimposed uniform fields are not detected by special probes. The Near Field Probe is compact and convenient. It has a current attenuation sheath and is therefore electrically shielded. It can be connected to a spectrum analyzer or an oscilloscope with a 50 Ω input. The magnetic field probe does not have a 50 Ω internal termination resistor.
