Introduction:
The magnetic field probe type LF-B 3 is a near-field probe manufactured by langer emv, Germany. The measuring coil of the magnetic field probe LF-B 3 is placed perpendicular to the axis. Using the probe tip perpendicularly ensures that it is correctly placed directly on the component or device to be measured. This permits its use on the surface of printed circuit boards in locations that are normally difficult to access, for example between large parts of a switching controller.
Probe LF-B 3 is a passive near-field probe in which the measuring coil in the probe is rotated by 90° with respect to its position in the LF-R 3 probe. The LF-B 3 detects magnetic field lines emitted by the object under test at an angle of 90°. Magnetic field lines entering the probe from the side are not detected. The near-field probe is compact and convenient. It has a current attenuation sheath and is therefore electrically shielded. It can be connected to a spectrum analyzer or an oscilloscope with a 50 Ω input. The Magnetic Field Probe does not have a 50 Ω internal termination resistor.
