Introduction:
The HFRA 5153 is a magnetic field transmitter loop antenna manufactured by Schwarzbeck (Germany) and distributed by EUTTEST. The antenna is designed to produce a clear magnetic field with a medium field strength level (<0.1A/m) in the frequency range up to 30MHz. You can also use it in the 50MHz frequency range but with reduced field strength. The antenna consists of a coil shielded from the electric field and contains a 10Ω series resistor for connecting a high impedance voltage measurement device (e.g. oscilloscope, voltmeter) to monitor the loop current across the loop coil. The loop current (monitoring voltage) is proportional to the strength of the generated magnetic field. The antenna can be mounted on three tripods AM9144 with a 3/8 inch female camera thread.
This antenna is equipped with two female BNC connectors, one of which can be used to power the loop and the other can be used to monitor the voltage across the built-in resistor with a volt-voltmeter (high impedance). The measurement distance used to calibrate the RX loop depends on the size of the RX loop. In order to obtain a uniform field distribution over the entire loop area, a higher calibration distance is required. The shorter the distance, the smaller the uniform area and size of the antenna to be calibrated. The following table shows the recommended minimum calibration distances, depending on the loop diameter of the loop to be calibrated and the desired field uniformity.
