What is ETS 3117?
The ETS 3117 is a broadband horn antenna manufactured by ETS-LINDGREN in the U.S.A. It is ETS' newest antenna for microwave and EMC testing. This antenna is available in a range of antenna frequencies with high gain and low VSWR. The ETS 3117 antenna can be used in EMC labs for automated testing with software that provides ETS A2LA certified labs with test results from the factory. The ETS 3117 antenna can be used in EMC labs for automated testing using software.

Model 3117 maintains a single dominant mode in the direction of the horn axis over its frequency range. This feature is critical for uniform distribution of electromagnetic energy over the target surface and for accurate measurement of gain and vector information.The unique design of the Model 3117 suppresses the propagation of higher order modes. The result is an antenna with a well-defined single-petal radiation direction pattern that outperforms comparable antennas.

The Model 3117 can scan from 1 GHz to 18 GHz without stopping for band breaks, making it ideal for automated testing. It has the widest usable frequency range of any antenna in its class and does not suffer from performance degradation due to higher order patterns.
Power Input
The Model 3117 uses an N-type connector and accepts up to 300 watts of continuous input power and up to 500 watts of peak power. The antenna's high gain and low standing wave ratio (VSWR) over its operating frequency range allows for efficient amplifier utilization and high field strength.
Uniform gain, low VSWR
The antenna has more uniform gain and antenna factor due to better performance of its radiation direction pattern. Since the pattern is stable throughout the frequency range, the gain and AF also remain stable. Similar antennas in this category show large changes in gain and AF with increase in frequency.
