Introduction:
The ETS 3109 Biconical Antenna is manufactured by ETS-lindgren in the USA and is authorized to be distributed by EUTTEST Shenzhen. ETS-Lindgren's Model 3109 Biconical Antenna utilizes a modified Guanella balanced-unbalanced converter for impedance conversion and matching. The 3109 antenna offers a wide frequency range and, because it is made of heavier materials, has a maximum continuous input power of up to 1 kW and a peak power handling capability of up to 2 kW. Although this antenna typically has a high VSWR below 70 MHz, it is still capable of generating high field strengths in this region of the band with acceptable input power. Optional extension elements significantly improve its performance in this region. The antenna is well suited for IEC 1000-4-3 testing.
ETS-Lindgren is the only manufacturer to offer the 3109 optional extension element. These elements are twice as long as the standard elements and allow the user to generate high magnetic fields at low frequencies with 25% less power than normally required.
