Introduction:
ETS 3102 antenna is a conical logarithmic spiral antenna manufactured by ETS-Lindgren in the United States and authorized to be sold by EUTTEST as an agent, available in the frequency range of 1GHz-10GHz, ETS-Lindgren's Model ETS 3102 Conical Log Spiral is made from a helical winding of semirigid coaxial cable which is connected to the outside of a glass fiber cone. The spiral winding is attached to the outside of the fiberglass cone. The external winding improves heat dissipation. The cone is attached to a delrin rod with an aluminum base.
Test Usage
ETS-Lindgren's ETS 3102 conical logarithmic helix antennas are specifically designed for MIL-STD and SAE testing, but are also effective for other types of measurements. For example, they can be used for close-range "quick scans" to look for spectral characteristics of RF emissions. For immunity testing, a conical logarithmic spiral produces a reasonable field strength at a moderate power input. By placing conical logarithmic helix antennas in a vertical position relative to ground level, they can also be used as omnidirectional, horizontally polarized antennas for electromagnetic field measurements. The ETS Model 3102 conical logarithmic spiral can also be used as a communications antenna to support the testing of wireless communications equipment.
The antenna mount attaches to standard 1/4 in x 20 threads from a tripod.
