A brief introduction to the electric wave darkroom provided by EUTTEST:
Electrowave darkroom, is mainly used to simulate the open field, at the same time for radiation radio harassment (EMI) and radiation sensitivity (EMS) measurement of the closed shielded room. The size of the dark room and RF absorbing material selection is mainly by the equipment under test (EUT) of the outer dimensions and test requirements to determine, divided into 1m method, 3m method or 10m method. Shenzhen EUTTEST company to provide fully meet the main EMC standards of wave darkroom, according to the test distance, the darkroom can be divided into 3m method, 5m method, 10m method of wave darkroom. The NSA and SVSWR of the darkroom meet the requirements of CISPR16-1-4, and the FU complies with IEC61000-4-3. The main private third-party independent laboratories in China are using this type of airwave darkroom, which can successfully pass the accreditation of FCC, CNAS and so on.
Classification of Radio Darkrooms:
The anechoic chamber (anechoic chamber) is usually divided into three types of test sites for radiation tests, namely, the full anechoic chamber, the half anechoic chamber and the open field. Radiation tests conducted in these three test sites can generally be considered to be consistent with the propagation of electromagnetic waves in free space.
Full Anechoic Chamber (FAC)

EUTTEST distributes and sells full-wave darkrooms.
The full-wave darkroom reduces the interference of external electromagnetic signals on the test signal, while electromagnetic wave-absorbing materials can reduce the multipath effect on the test results due to reflections from the walls and ceilings, suitable for emission, sensitivity and immunity experiments. In practice, if the shielding effectiveness of the shielding body can reach 80dB ~ 140dB, then the interference of the external environment can be ignored, in the full-wave darkroom can be simulated in free space. Compared with the other two test sites, the full-wave darkroom floor, ceiling and wall reflections are minimized, minimal interference from the outside environment, and is not affected by the outside weather. Its disadvantages are cost constraints and limited test space.
2. Semi-electrical wave darkroom

EUTTEST distributes and sells semi-electrical wave darkrooms.
Similar to a full-wave darkroom, a half-wave darkroom is a shielded, six-sided box covered with an electromagnetic wave absorbing material, with the difference that a half-wave darkroom uses a conductive floor and is not covered with a wave absorbing material. Semi-electrowave darkrooms simulate the ideal open-field situation, i.e., the site has an infinitely large, well-conducted ground plane. In a half-wave darkroom, since the floor is not covered with wave-absorbing material, a reflection path will be created so that the signal received by the receiving antenna will be the sum of the direct and reflected path signals.

3. Open field

EUTTEST Open field for agency sales
Open area test (OAT) is a flat, open, good conductivity uniformity, without any reflection of the elliptic or circular test site, the ideal open field ground has good conductivity, the area is infinite, in the 30MHz~1000MHz receiving antenna to receive the signal will be the sum of direct path and reflection path signal. However, in practice, although good ground conductivity can be obtained, the area of the open field is limited, and thus may cause phase differences between the transmitting antenna and the receiving antenna. For transmit tests, the open field is used in the same way as a semi-electric darkroom.
Other laboratories similar to the darkroom of the airwaves
Because of the high price of the darkroom so that most customers are discouraged, and the darkroom construction cycle is long, the maintenance of personnel requirements are very high, so in the EMC industry, we also recommend that customers use some of the small experimental sites to replace the darkroom use of airwaves.
However, it should be clear that if you need to test according to the standard requirements, you can not use the following alternatives, only the R&D phase for laboratory mapping test will use the following alternatives to the electric wave darkroom:
TEM cell
The Chinese name of TEM cell is TEM cell, which has two disadvantages compared to the darkroom, one is that the test frequency range is not as wide as the darkroom, and the size of the object to be tested is limited by the test area of the TEM, which can only test the products with a width of about 10cm. For more information about TEM test methods, please check:

GTEM Laboratory
The GTEM has the same disadvantages as the TEM, but it allows for larger subjects, for example the GTEM pictured below allows for subjects up to 1 meter in height.

Ribbon line
Ribbon line needs to be used according to the standard requirements, generally used for automotive electronic parts and components products to test the use of radiation immunity.

shielded room
Shielded room and the same as the wave darkroom metal shell design, but the shielded room has no wave-absorbing materials, so the shielded room reflection is higher than the wave darkroom, generally only used for the conductive emission test, for the radiated emission test can only be mapping the use of the laboratory accreditation services are not provided.
